Responsibilities of a board member include:

  1. An MCLA Board member must be a member of the organization
  2. Advocacy on issues within the purview of a curriculum leader.
  3. Participation in MCLA interests and activities such as state wide committees and the two annual conferences sponsored by MCLA.
  4. Meeting participation:  There are six meeting annually, one after each conference and at least four other meetings.  These meetings may be attended via telephone conferencing when available.
  5. Representation of a region and being a conduit of information between the Board and the organization’s membership and school systems.
  6. Maintenance of an MCLA binder to be passed on to subsequent Board members.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved statewide for the best possible education in Maine.
